The Nelson Paint Company, an industry leader in Forestry, Paintball, and Industrial Paint Manufacturing, is excited to announce the promotion of Melanie Louys to Assistant Vice President. Melanie will represent the fourth generation of the Nelson family to run and manage the business.

Melanie joined The Nelson Paint Company in September of 2021 after attending Michigan Technological University and working for seven years in various professional roles. She was hired as a Purchasing and Inventory Specialist and then promoted to a Regulatory & Compliance Officer at the company’s headquarters in Kingsford, Michigan. She was responsible for ordering the raw materials and managing the inventory. As a Regulatory and Compliance Officer, she ensured employees and facilities were following all governmental guidelines and worked on finding ways to create a safer workplace.

Melanie will work closely with Karen Cox, Vice President, to learn the intricacies of running the business and tap into Karen’s invaluable institutional knowledge as much as possible. “I am excited and honored to be able to continue the family legacy into the next generation and see us hit our 100th anniversary during my tenure. Melanie lives in Iron Mountain with her dog Princess and her cats Beans and Peanut.
